Procedure

As vacancies occur, the Superintendent with the advice of the staff members concerned, selects candidates from the active file of applicants whom he recommends to the Board for appointment.

The Board of Education reserves the right to approve or disapprove the Superintendent's recommendations. This function, of initiating appointments through recommendation, is delegated to the Superintendent in recognition of the fact that teacher selection should be a professional and technical matter and that efficiency is best maintained by holding the Superintendent responsible for the selected personnel's work which he supervises.
