Materials and Equipment

A teacher should constantly be on the alert that light, temperature, and ventilation are always right; adjust shades and use lights when necessary, and turn off the lights when leaving the room. A comfortable temperature should be maintained. The condition of the air should be checked often.

A teacher should be very careful of books, materials, and equipment, and teach the care of all such property.

Pupils desks should be cleared of things not necessary for the work at hand. There should be an organized system of pupil help in distributing and collecting supplies and equipment.

Classroom displays and charts should show that the teacher is consistently measuring the progress of her pupils and giving help when needed.
