School Board Election Information
DAVENPORT COMMUNITY SCHOOLS BOARD OF DIRECTORS ANNOUNCES PROCESS
TO FILL VACANT BOARD SEAT
The Board of Directors of the Davenport Community School District must fill the remainder of the term on the Board left by the sudden passing of Director Bill Sherwood.
The Board will accept letters of interest from members of the community which must be received by the Board Secretary no later than 4:30 p.m. Friday, January 30, 2015. Those submitting letters of interest will be interviewed in a special call open session during the week of February 2 with the exact date and time to be determined. The Board will vote to select an individual to complete the vacant term during the regular Board meeting on Monday, February 9, 2015. The individual selected will be sworn in immediately and take their position on the Board.
Letters of interest may be dropped off at the Achievement Service Center, 1606 Brady Street, Davenport, Iowa weekdays between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m or e-mailed to the Board Secretary at email@example.com.
Regular School Board elections are now held in odd years during the month of September for the Davenport Community School District and all other Iowa school districts.
The next School Board election will be held Tuesday, September 8th, 2015. Four board positions will be open during the next election.
The Davenport Community School Board conducts officer elections annually. Ralph Johanson was re-elected as President and Rich Clewell was elected Vice-President at Annual Meeting on September 22, 2014.
