Special Education

Davenport Schools is currently in the process of revising it’s Special Education Delivery Plan. If you have read the draft of the plan (by clicking on the previous hyperlink), and would like to leave a comment for consideration, please click here.

Our district is committed to providing a Free and Appropriate Public Education to every student who desires one. In support of this mission, we offer a wide range of programming opportunities to support exceptional children from pre-kindergarten until graduation day. Our commitment is to develop an individualized program based on the unique needs of each student. Programs are always provided in the least restrictive environment, based on plans developed in collaboration with parents, caregivers, teachers, and specialists.

You may use the navigation menu at the left of this page to find more information:

If you are a parent of a child who currently receives special education services, your first line of contact should be your child’s teacher or principal. If you have been in contact with these educators and feel that your concerns are still not being addressed, feel free to find contact information for the Specialist assigned to your child’s building on our staff directory page.

For an overview of the special education services we offer, please check out the Programs and Services page.

If your student has an IEP and you believe they need physical assistance getting to and from school, you can find more information on the Transportation page.
