    OPUS Highlight


    North High School Sopranos Ella McMahon and Vivian Bonde were recently selected to participate in the thirty-second annual OPUS Honor Choir. Over 2600 students across Iowa auditioned for 720 positions. They will perform in the 9th Grade Mixed OPUS Honor Choir at 4pm on November 21st in C.Y. Stephens Auditorium in the Iowa State Center in Ames. Congratulations, ladies! Read more

    PSAT Test Administered Wednesday, October 16th

    The PSAT is a great opportunity for sophomores to practice taking a major college entrance exam. For juniors, their scores may qualify them for a National Merit Scholarship.     North Art Compete’s at Pastel Draw-Off

    On Saturday, May 25, 10 Quad City area high school art student teams competed on a live draw off.  The students designed and drew on an 8 x 8 foot square made up of two 4 x 8 foot masonite panels. They competed for awards to fund and improve education in the participants’ art departments.     NHS/Truman Life Skills Field Day

    National Honor Society held our annual field day with Life Skills students at Truman Elementary this morning. Many of these students are not able to participate in Field Day events with other students at the school because of safety concerns or sensory processing issues. There were different activities for the students to complete along side of the high school students. Read more

    Living Lands and Waters Field Trip

    On 5/15 Mrs. Rowland’s Biology Class went on a field trip to Living Lands and Waters.  We learned about native species, invasive species, pollinators, endangered species, mollusks, recycling, and bioaccumulation and plant species. We went on a hike, identified species, and played games dealing with environmental issues. It was a perfect day! Read more
