AP Studio Art
At North High School, we offer a three term class called AP Studio Art where students create 24 original pieces of artwork and build a portfolio. They are scored on this art portfolio by a national panel and have the possibility of earning college credit. Their portfolio is their test and it is broken down into three categories. This is explained more in the AP Studio Art Survival Guide below along with more information found at: http://apcentral.collegeboard.com/apc/members/exam/exam_information/2182.html
Category 1 – Concentration – 12 works creating a statement and fitting one style.
Category 2 – Breadth – 12 different works not in the Concentration category that represent the variety of the students background.
Category 3 – Quality – 5 works from either of these categories or new works that are the students absolute best works and are not larger than 18″x24″ or on stretched canvas.
