Swing Into Reading
On Friday April 13th every student at Monroe had tickets to the Quad City Swing Baseball Game. Students earned the tickets by reading at least 30 minutes per day for 2 months! The Swing was generous by providing the tickets and a bus for students and parents to ride to the game. On the chilly Friday night at picturesque John O’Donnel, over 100 Monroe students came to the game with their enthusiastic parents. The students enjoyed a fine game, hot dogs, pop corn and the company of friends. The game was followed by an impressive firework display over the mighty Mississippi River . We couldn’t have had this exciting event without the hard work and organization of Ms. Dornbush. Big thanks !
