Thank You Rory!
Monroe is very
fortunate to have a generous and charitable former student! Rory Keehn contacted
Mr. Driscoll last spring to discuss ways he could help the current students of
Monroe through monetary donations. He and Mr. Driscoll decided that financial
contributions would be sent to the Dad’s Club every month to assist with
various projects that help kids. As of now, Mr. Keehn is funding the maintenance
of donated band instruments and his fund
will assist in sending all of the students of
Monroe to a movie in February for achieving goals on the ITBS tests.
Mr. Keehn grew up on Waverly Street
and attended Monroe Elementary from 1968 to 1975.
He went on to Smart, then to West High School in which he graduated in
1981. He began playing in the band
in the fifth grade, and played all the way through High School.
He even played in the USAF Drum and Bugle Corps.
After High School graduation, he went into the Air Force, and served for
11 years, he separated with an Honorable Discharge in 1992.
He then attended and graduated from Nicholls State University in
Thibodaux, Louisiana where he received a Bachelors of Science Degree in Biology
and Chemistry in 1996.
He is now employed by Northrop
Grumman Corporation where he has a successful career. He
is married to the former Cathy Constant, and has two wonderful children.
Caitlin who is in her first year of College and Nora who is in the fourth
