5th graders to the Figge!
by Mr. Houk
The fifth grade students had the
privilege to experience a study trip to the
Figge Art Museum. Students were
amazed by the magnificent horse sculptures created by Montana artist Deborah
Butterfield. Growing up on a horse
ranch is how Butterfield became passionate about horses.
Her relationship with horses inspired her to create life-size horse
sculptures out of scrap metal, bronze, and wood.
Her exhibit will be on display until May 27th.
A few of the many exciting events included a wonderful view of the
Mississippi river and franticly evacuating the museum due to a mechanical error
with the smoke alarm. Your artistic
eye finds beauty everywhere and every moment is a learning experience.
