    Multicultural Night

    On Thursday, April 28th, the DCSD Title 1 Schools presented their Multicultural Night at Hotel Davenport. This event was free for Title 1 families. Each school highlighted a different country, and the country of Ireland was presented by Monroe.     Donated Books in Memory of Marilyn Eberle

    Monroe Elementary would like to say a very big THANK YOU to Linda Ceurvorst, Mickey Dryer, Martha Gilbert, Jane Meyer, and many others for donating fourteen books to the Monroe Library.     Hatching Chicks

    Over the past few weeks, the students at Monroe Elementary have gotten to experience firsthand the life cycle of a chick. Incubators with eggs were placed in the Monroe Library, Miss McGlynn’s first grade classroom, and Miss Daniel’s kindergarten classroom. This week, they hatched!     YMCA Safety Around Water

    Wax Museum Winners

    Congratulations to our Wax Museum winners! On Wednesday, March 30th, the fifth grade Wax Museum winners represented Monroe Elementary at the Davenport Community School District Student Showcase. The winners are: Shayla White, Jeslyn Rocio, Nayeli Murillo, and Loree Rude. These outstanding students dressed as famous historical people, answered questions, and posed for pictures.     This summer, the Davenport Parks and Recreation Department is offering a variety of reading skills programs for children of all ages. These classes are aimed at improving phonics, comprehension, vocabulary, study skills, and speed reading.
