    August & September Optimist Lifeskill Awards

    On October 2, 20 Monroe students received the “Optimist Lifeskills Award” presented by the Optimist Club. Students were nominated for these awards by their teachers and were recognized for demonstrating the lifeskill of Active Listening that was our focus for the months of August & September.     Book Fair Oct. 20-23!

    Our BOOK FAIR will be coming back to Monroe School Monday, Oct. 20 – Thursday, Oct. 23. There will be many GREAT books available to buy for your own home libraries, and all sales help our school library buy more books!     Green and Growing Celebration!

    On September 26, students at Monroe school celebrated their first “Green and Growing” celebration!

    Students who are “green” are those who are currently meeting grade-level expectations.

    Students who are “growing” are demonstrating measurable growth towards achieving grade-level expectations.

    Books & Blankets for Kindergarteners!

    On September 25, the group “From Cover to Cover” presented Monroe Kindergarteners with comfy blankets and their very own book! The blankets are made by ­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­ community volunteers and participating schools.   The books are funded through community donations and fundraising Pete the Cat even came to visit while they read his story!
