“THANK YOU SO MUCH,” FROM COVER TO COVER!
From Cover to Cover is a non-profit organization that strives to raise literacy among elementary students. They have done many things to help Monroe Students. For the past three years they have presented books and blankets for each individual Kindergarten student, and for the past two years they have provided every Kindergarten student with a new crate with 25 books in it so that each student can Read more
The second grade classes presented Reader’s Theater in celebration of Thanksgiving, providing family, friends, and classmates with presentation of their reading and drama skills!
When ‘performing’ Reader’s Theater, students act out a written story (script) which is divided among them. There are no required costumes, special lighting or memorization, just reading as fun!Read more
Monroe students completed the First Quarter 2016-2017 by celebrating with an assembly and presentation of awards for perfect attendance, demonstration and practice of Boystown skills, and recognition for outstanding work in music, art, and library performance. The celebration also included time for games and fun, bouncy houses, and organized competition. The following are pictures of recognized students at the assembly and students active, having fun.

Monroe Teacher Brett Monnard and West High Teacher Jay Swords attended the annual Iowa Talented and Gifted (ITAG) Conference October 17th and 18th. They presented 5 breakout sessions.
