Today was the kick off for our United Way sponsored Born Learning Academy for our Teen Moms. Our moms learned that babies start learning the minute they are born, warm responsive interactions make a difference in school readiness and long term success, and there are plenty of household items we can use to teach our children sounds, shapes and colors.

Mr. Parks, Mid City’s security officer, visited Washington Elementary School to mentor students on living a good life. Mid City staff has a big vision to help all students in our district!

Mid City Choir teacher had a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to spend the day at Circa 21. Mini-classes were held and a delicious lunch was served. Great day had by all!
Natalie Anderson, trained specialist in Reflexology and Reiki, taught the Teen Mom Advisory students about Reiki and how to use the techniques to relax.
On January 31st, Mid City High School students interested in attending the University of Iowa had the opportunity to visit the college campus for a guided tour and lunch.
