    First Choir Concert at MCHS

    The first Mid City High School Choir concert was held on Friday, December 12th at 7:00pm.  Staff, students and their family members enjoyed an evening of holiday songs.  Choir members include:  Chrissy Bein, Davion Blessing, MyTaveah Bogan, Jacob Cutrell, Naloni Dodson, Kiki Elliott, Kennedy Jakey, Michelle McCrady, Katelyn Morse, Tatiana Travis, Lacey Tucker, Cayla Wilford, Danyell DeToye, Katelyn England, Apryl Grass, Lauren Hidges, Morgan Kurtz, Lexi Leeson, Keshuna Miler, Ana Sadler, Michelle Scanlan and Chance Turkle.

    Lacey Tucker and Chrissy Bein sang a duet while Morgan Kurtz, Davion Blessing, Lauren Hodges, Keshuna Miller, Chance Turkle, Naloni Dodson, and  Kiki Elliot all sang solos.

    Visiting Artist JM James

    Susan Wahlmann from the Visiting Artist Series arranged for JM James to present to the Mid City Choir students on Friday, December 12th.  He played songs with multiple instruments and discussed his journey toward achieving his dreams. He encouraged students to work hard, start now, and live their dreams. Mr. James is originally from Iowa City and he now makes his home in Nashville, Tennessee.  He is affiliated with the Quad City Arts.

    Jim Slavens presents to iJAG students

    Jim Slavens is with Junior Achievement and he visited Mid City iJAG students to discuss Ethics. He gave real life scenarios and encouraged students to make positive choices and always do the right thing.

    Quad City Minority Partnership Conference

    On 11/18/14, Mid City iJAG students attended the Quad City Minority Partnership Conference at Augustana College.  Students participated in multiple workshops focusing on financial aid, student health, smart choices with social media, and college prep. They also had the opportunity to visit with representatives from colleges across Iowa and Illinois.

    Fall College Visits

    This fall semester, Mid City iJAG students had the opportunity to tour Blackhawk College, Paul Mitchell, Scott Community College, and St. Ambrose University.
