Grade 3
The Teachers in the Third Grade Program are:
Students in third grade have a full curriculum of reading, writing and arithmetic. Second grade uses the Macmillan-McGraw Hill Treasures as the reading series, and the math program is the Wright Groups Growing with Mathematics. By the end of their year, there are certain skills that they should be able to demonstrate. Called the standards (what they need to know) and benchmarks (how they will show that they know it) are displayed below. The document is extensive in all the areas of learning.

In addition, the children participate in a program called Second Step, an anti-bullying program designed to teach children skills of empathy, impulse control, anger management and problem solving. For more information on Second Step, click here.
A unique aspect of Lincoln is the in depth study of artists and different musical genres. The third grade students are studying Alexander Calder and Romare Bearden.
The third grade students conduct a year long study of Gospel, Jazz and Blues Music.
