Grade 5

The Teachers in the Grade 5 Program are:

Students in fifth grade have a full curriculum of reading, writing and arithmetic. Fifth grade uses the Macmillan-McGraw Hill Treasures as the reading series, and the math program is the Wright Groups Growing with Mathematics. By the end of their year, there are certain skills that they should be able to demonstrate. Called the standards (what they need to know) and benchmarks (how they will show that they know it) are displayed below. The document is extensive in all the areas of learning.

In addition, the children participate in a program called Second Step, an anti-bullying program designed to teach children skills of empathy, impulse control, anger management and problem solving. For more information on Second Step, click here.
