The Keystone Academy is a K-12 building that educates both general education and special education students with the most significant behavior issues. Students are placed at Keystone either from our District Office, our Special Education Department or by Family Resources. Our student population at Keystone is ever-changing. Keystone is a program that focuses equally as much on behavior as we do academics. We have implemented the Specialized Classroom Management Model (Boys Town) to teach social skills. This is a very specific and student individualized model. It is used by all our staff to address, teach, and change behavior with our students. Every moment is considered a teachable moment whether it is recognizing appropriate behavior or correcting inappropriate behavior. Our goal is for students to learn, practice, and use appropriate behavior skills and be able to transition back to a regular school setting or a less restrictive setting.
