    Updated info for School Closures, Online Learning, Meal Sites

    Governor Reynolds announced on Friday that all Iowa schools will remain closed through the end of this academic year.  We will continue our online learning here in the district.  Superintendent Koblyski has sent out messages to all our families keeping them updated on the latest news and next steps for families.  

    The message below contains info for the district meal sites.  We would like to thank all of our Food and Nutrition workers who have been making these meals for our students.  

    Any child between the ages of 1-18 years old may receive a lunch and breakfast at no cost at one of the following locations between 11am-1pm, Monday – Friday:

    1. 1. Achievement Service Center, located at 1702 N. Main Street, Davenport
    2. 2. Sudlow, located at 1414 East Locust Street, Davenport
    3. 3. Williams, located at 3040 North Division, Davenport
    4. 4. Frank L. Smart, located at 1934 West 5th Street, Davenport
    5. 5. Wood, located at 5701 North Division, Davenport
    6. 6. Buffalo Elementary, 1000 Jefferson Street, Buffalo

    We also remind those driving to one of the meal sites to OPEN THE TRUNK of their car, or LEAVE A SEAT OPEN where staff can place the food. This is all an in effort

    Please continue to check this site as we are updating information as we receive it.  Also, check the district’s home site davenportschools.org for any updates regarding school closures and other announcements.  This is a new journey for all of us!  Please click the link below to access educational materials for your child(ren) based on their grade level.  Stay safe, and we are all in this together.  

    The Davenport Community School District has created a website filled with online learning resources to support families and students at this time, organized by grade level. We hope that this website will assist you during the school closure.

    A WILD PD here at Keystone!

    Yesterday, Jen and Jodi led our Keystone teachers through a professional development safari!  They were tasked with compiling data, searching for information in our IEP system, and other tasks relevant to the job!  It was a lot of fun, and it included a lot of learning.  See below!

    From the Nurse’s Office–Required Vaccinations

    Current 6th Graders:

    All students entering 7th grade must have the meningitis vaccine AND a Tdap booster shot unless they have a religious or medical exemption.  

    Now is the time to schedule an appointment.

    Students cannot start school in August without these state-required vaccines.  

     

    Current 8th Graders:

    All students entering 9th grade are required to provide proof of a dental screening by a dentist or dental hygienist

     Now is the time to schedule a dentist appointment for your future high school student.

     

    Current 11th Graders:

    All students entering 12th grade are required to have 2 doses of the meningitis vaccine, or 1 dose if received at 16 years of age or older unless they have a religious or medical exemption.  

    Now is the time to schedule an appointment.

    Black History Celebrations at Keystone!

    We are highlighting and celebrating the history and accomplishments of African-Americans this month at Keystone!  We have included local figures as well!  We have several doors decorated throughout the building.
