Kimberly Center - Home of the Panthers!

Panther Basketball in Full Swing
     The Kimberly Center Intramural Basketball team is preparing for it's first game against Cedar Rapids Metro to be held on December 14th at the St. Mark's Fieldhouse in Davenport. Metro will be bringing it's well-honed team to play in the historic, first ever Iowa Alternative Basketball League game. Chuck Tonelli, Metro's coach is the league's organizer. He took the initiative to contact 19 Alternative High Schools across Iowa to establish the fledgling league.
     The Kimberly Center squad, led by Coach Jim Wessel is working hard at it's practices developing sound fundamental skills and athletic fitness through grueling workouts. Coach Wessel describes the player's three guiding rules as, "take the game seriously, don't put anybody down and have fun."Coach Foster envisions another play.
     Coach Steve Foster is a Zen-like master strategist who imparts his years of wisdom and philosophy upon his players. Foster states, "I'm impressed with the team's attitude and willingness to learn." Coach Foster wants to remind all Panther Basketball Fans that the games will be televised every Saturday at 1:00 PM on Mediacom Channel 19 starting on December 22.
