PENNIES
FOR PATIENTS
On
Wednesday, February 25, 2009 staff and students came together to kick
off Pennies for Patients. Penny for Patients is a non-profit
organization for children with leukemia and lymphoma cancer. For the
past week student council members have been working to plan this
assembly. To
kick off the assembly student council showed a 5 minute video showing
basically what cancer is. Then student council put on a skit. As a way
to get students encouraged donating student council has just finished
planning principal for a day. So if you have any extra change lying
around please donate. Just a little money can save the life of a child
with cancer.
PRINCIPAL
FOR A DAY
Would
you like to donate some money for a chance to be principal for the day
and the possibility of saving the life of a child with cancer? If your
answer to these questions was yes then you might want to listen up.
Student council has planned a fundraising activity for Pennies for
Patients. What happens is a student pays a certain amount of money to
get their names entered into a contest. If you are the lucky one who
gets your name pulled you get to be the principal for one whole school
day. Some of the things the principal for the day gets to do is:

Be
excused from all classes
·
Bring 3
friends for lunch
·
Use the
radio
·
Morning
announcements
·
Hall
Monitor
These are just a few of the things that you will be able to do if you
win. So if you would like to possibly boss students and staff around
please donate some money. Donations are being accepted by Mrs. Jones
room.
SPIRIT
WEEK
The
week of March 16th through the 20th staff and
students get to participate in a week of fun. On Monday March 16th
show how crazy you can be. Monday is crazy day. For crazy day this could
include your hair, clothes etc. Tuesday, March 17th is St.
Patrick’s Day. Show your spirit for St. Patrick’s Day by wearing
green. Wednesday, March 18th is Hawaiian day. Student council
will be handing out leis for free. Thursday March 19th show
your school spirit by wearing blue and white. The colors blue and white
are
Kimberly
Center
’s school colors. Friday, March 20th show your spirit for
your favorite sports team or school with jersey day. The main reason for
spirit week is to have fun. So show your spirit and have fun.
STAFF
VS. STUDENTS BEACH VOLLEYBALL
On
Thursday, February 26, 2009 staff and students came together for aN hour
of fun playing beach ball volleyball. The activity was held from 3:30 to
4:30 in the gym. On the staff team was terry, Matheis, Judy, Bosco,
Kresse, Flynn, and Driscoll. On the student team was Jessica, Kat,
Brandy, and Corey. The two teams played 3 rounds to 15. All three rounds
the teachers won. Even though the staff won, the students still had a
great time and showed awesome amount of teamwork. A big thanks goes out
to Mr. Wessel.
