Join Us for Graduation Destination-Saturday, August 15th
We, in the Davenport Community School District (DCSD), believe that every student needs to earn a high school diploma to help them build a successful future. Graduation Destination is a community event held from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 15, 2015 at the River’s Edge, 700 W. River Drive, Davenport.
The event is sponsored by the DCSD Dropout Prevention Task Force and the City of Davenport Parks and Recreation Department.
Our goals are to:
- Create awareness of the issues that may lead a student to drop out of school
- Educate families with students of all ages on the resources available through our schools and in our community
- Reach out to students who have dropped out of school or who may be thinking about dropping out
We’ll have approximately 20 community and school-based “vendors” on site to share information on the programs and supports they can offer students and their families. Guidance counselors and learning supports specialists will be available to discuss options with students who may want to return to school or may be thinking about dropping out.
Plan to come out and celebrate student success and learn how we can all join forces to support students to graduate from high school!
