    It is time for the annual Hayes Book Fair! We have changed it up a bit and gone virtually! There are still the same great books available – you just order them online!     A District and community priority while schools are closed is to provide students and families with what is needed to keep students engaged and on track for success.

    The Davenport Community School District has created a website filled with online learning resources to support families and students at this time, organized by grade level. We hope that this website will assist you during the school closure.

    Throughout our school closures, we plan to keep this website up-to-date with learning activities, resources, guides, and more for students and families.

    From the Nurse’s Office


    …no matter what the age of the child.

    Anything from an art or lunchtime spill, wet slide, fall in a puddle at recess, being sick or even bathroom issues, your child may need a change of clothing. 

    Due to lack of available storage, there will no longer be extra clothes in the nurse’s office to help when these kind of problems happen.


    We are requesting that EACH CHILD have a full change of clothing (top, bottom, socks and underwear) kept in their locker or cubby at school.  These items should be individually labeled with the child’s

    180 Zone Basketball Champions


    Saturday March 1st was the 1st Annual 180 Zone Elementary Basketball Tournament at Hayes.  The Royal Blue team from Hayes was the winner, but all of the students who played had a great time. Players from each of the participating schools have been hard at work on practice and at weekly games.  The kids gave a great effort and it was easy to see they loved every minute of it!

    Imagine the Amazing with Unity Point Health


    Unity Point Health Care is offering area schools a chance to win $25,000 to enhance the well-being of students, staff, and/or learning environments.  Help Hayes Elementary to win the grand prize or several smaller prizes by going to the Unity Point website and voting for Hayes.  You can vote as often as you like, and the voting runs from September 17th through the 30th.

    Vera French Same Day Access


    Vera French Mental Health Center is proud to announce same day access for adults and children for their first intake visit.  See the attached flyer for dates and times for adults and children.  Each initial visit takes about 90 minutes, although they can last longer.  Be sure to bring proof of insurance, a photo ID, custody or guardianship paperwork, and previous mental health history paperwork.

    Attention Bulldog Parents… Our PTO is looking for families who would like to be a part of PTO and help with all of the awesome activities provided to our students.  The first PTO meeting will be on Tuesday September 11th at 4:00 p.m. in the Hayes Library.  On the agenda is voting for new PTO officers and brainstorming ideas for events.  There is no cost join, just a willingness to help our Hayes Community!
