October PTO Meeting We will be holding monthly meetings and rotating

Family Involvement Did you know...Parent involvement in school helps children increase grades and test scores, better attendance and homework completion, as well as building self confidence and self-esteem? Hayes Elementary has developed a Family Resource Room (17B) this year! My name is Julie Stombaugh and I am the Family Involvement Liaison for Hayes Elementary. I am available to you throughout the day in person, by telephone, or email. I look forward to meeting you! We are currently looking for families who would like to be involved in the classrooms. Opportunities are available in all grade levels in reading, math, and much more. We encourage you to stop by to see what we have to offer. Be on the look out for "morning munchies" and other tasty treats in the coming months. Please let me know what I can do to help enrich your families' experience here at Hayes. Julie Stombaugh Upcoming Events
Reading Night Mind Games November 12th (Thursday) from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Let's Help Save the Earth!!! Did you know that your plastic lids from soda and
water bottles are not recycled? They are cut off the bottles and thrown
into our landfills and waterways. Worse yet, they end up in animals'
bellies because they mistake the lids for food!
RIF Distribution of RIF books generally take place in October, January and March. All children receive a free book of their choice that they get to keep. Take a few minutes and sit down and read with your child. Thank you to the PTO for help in supporting this program!
