Book Fair Resounding Success

Thank you to all students, parents and staff who supported the Hayes Book Fair.  We did a tremendous amount of business in just one week.  We sold almost $1,800.00 dollars worth of items.  This means that Hayes Library will get just about $475.00 in profit to buy new non-fiction books for the library.  With this level of success, we plan to continue to have a yearly spring book fair so keep that in mind for next year.  Again, thank you so very much.

MRSA
methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus

As you may be aware, we have had a small number of confirmed cases of MRSA within our district.  Although these cases are not a significant health risk, we feel it is important to make sure our parents, students, and staff are well informed.
The prevention measures noted in the information (SEE the NURSE'S PAGE)  are appropriate whether there is a case in our building or not.  Just as importantly, they are also appropriate as we enter into the colds and flu season, they may help us to reduce those incidents as well.
You need to know that we are committed to providing a safe environment within our schools and that we are well prepared to manage this challenge.

Food Drive

Last Year total items collected were 2,202
Total for this year was 1,896 cans

Our grand total was 1,896 cans or items brought to school this year.  Hayes school took 3rd place in the District again, congratulations to all our students who worked so hard to make this a successful food drive.  A huge list of students brought in cans that last week of the drive.  Thank you to Brady and BreAnna in Mrs. Ericksen's  room.  Brady's  mom took up a collection at work and BreAnna's family was a big donor again this year.  At least 50 other students donated during that last week.  All of these students received prizes for their efforts.

Thank you from...The Hayes Student Council.
