Throughout the third quarter, the Fifth grade students worked on the following standard: L.5.5b Recognize and explain the meaning of common idioms, adages, and proverbs. As a culminating activity for third quarter, several students dressed up as his or her favorite idiom. Can you find “I’ve got a chip on my shoulder,” “at the drop of a hat,” “break a leg,” and “all eyes on me”? Teachers Allison Jump and Sheila Ehlers dressed up “like two peas in a pod”. Oh, no, “it’s raining cats and dogs!” Look, there’s a “dust bunny”.
