Mr. Fisher collected the most money in our Pie for the Playground contest, $877! His reward was a pie in the face, thrown by Mrs. Baxter, the runner-up. Altogether $1600.87 was collected that will be used to help purchase new playground equipment. Thank you to our contestants which also included Mrs. Robertson, Mrs. Santoro, Mr. Luke, and Mrs. Frost and Trine. Trine was awarded her own special treat. A big thanks to Mrs. Guy who coordinated the event. But the biggest thanks goes to our students and their families for their donations!
News, Events, and Announcements
It was a fun time on Monday, November 13, when Dave Titus, also known as the StringMan, visited us. Dave used a simple circle of string to tell us stories. He showed us so many things we could do with a string. He also taught us some life lessons such as, “I don’t know how to do it yet but if I keep practicing I’ll be able to do it.” In the evening Dave did a session for families, talking about the importance of sharing stories and experiences with our children at home and at school. We were so lucky that Dave traveled from Oklahoma to share with us.
The Giordano Dance Chicago group presented a program for our students on Monday, November 6. Here they are with the first graders in room 37.
