Garfield Families: Join the Quad Cities Community as we “Strive For Less Than 5 Days Absent” for the 2018-2019 school year! Schools throughout the area are taking part in this initiative to help keep student absenteeism at a minimum.
Thursday, September 13th has been designated as a challenge day for every school to strive for 100% attendance!
Here are 5 tips to help your children “strive for less than 5 days absent” this school year:
- Set a regular bedtime.
- Prep clothes & backpacks the night before.
- Only keep children home if they are truly sick.
- Have a back-up plan for getting to school.
- Avoid scheduling doctor’s appointments & trips during school hours.
This Thursday, Garfield Staff will be greeting our students with a “High 5” as they arrive to school. The “High 5” gesture is symbolic to “Striving For Less Than 5 Days Absent this school year.”
