Dear Garfield Families and Students,
The end of the year is quickly approaching! It is often this time of year that students struggle to follow our daily P.R.I.D.E. expectations. Students work to be Prepared for learning, use Respect for themselves and others, show and approach work & play with an “I can attitude” “Do my best” and show others Empathy. There is so much yet to accomplish this year. During the last few weeks of school there will still be student responsibilities that are as important now as they were in August. Students continue to have multiple assessments and classroom expectations to follow to ensure the tools necessary to be successful in our daily learning. We are counting on both our parents and our students to commit to working hard with us!
During the last few weeks of the school year, there are many fun activities planned to celebrate our students being prepared for daily learning. Students demonstrate they are ready for the next school year by showing their daily P.R.I.D.E. especially by choosing to demonstrate their “I can attitude” and choosing to “Do their best”. In order to participate in school activities such as class celebrations, extra recesses, and/or Field Day, students will be held accountable for their actions and choices.
Students that receive referrals or that are missing school, classwork, homework or assessments will be expected to complete these things prior to participating in class or school celebrations such as Field Day. Referrals that involve inappropriate physical or verbal interactions may result in the development of an alternative plan or automatic loss of Field Day. Our goal for Field Day is to provide a fun and safe celebration for all of your hard work!
This is an amazing time of year! Please help us celebrate the end of a fantastic one by showing us everything you learned and demonstrating amazing PRIDE Behavior at Garfield every day all day!
