The last day of school this year will be Tuesday, May 28, with an awards ceremony at 9 a.m. and an early dismissal at 12:50. The fifth-grade celebration will be on Wednesday, May 22. Field Day, with an all-school cook-out, will be Friday, May 24.

The Gator Band presents its Spring Recital/Concert on Tuesday, March 26, 2013 in the Garfield Library at 6:30 – 7:15 pm. Gator Band students will present their solos that they have been working on for the Jungle Bungle Practice Contest. Winner of the most minutes practiced will be announced and the award given at the recital. Read more

Several guest readers visited our classrooms at Garfield on Friday, March 1st, to share a Dr. Seuss story with us. Ask your student who came to their rooms. Thank you, Mrs. Wiele for organizing this fun event and providing a snack for all the Garfield Gators!
For the first time on Thursday, Feb. 7th, students will demonstrate their science projects and answer questions for 30 minutes. Projects will be judged this year, with Best of Shows advancing onto the “Earth Grant Student Showcase Event” at Davenport Public Works on April 27th.
