The 2016 John Deere Classic Birdies for Charity Program is in full swing. The Davenport Schools Foundation (Birdies 969) will be one of 500 regional charities to benefit from the program this year. According to Kristy Ketcham Jackson, Birdies for Charity director, ongoing support from John Deere will continue to cover the administrative costs of the Birdies for Charities program allowing 100% of the money pledged plus the bonus going directly to the charity.
Once again, the John Deere Foundation will match all donations up to $325,000 made directly by individuals and businesses to the Birdies Bonus Fund. The fund is made up of tournament profits and direct donations, and its amount determines the bonus percentage distributed proportionately to all participating charities. In 2015, charities received a 10 percent bonus, more than the 5 percent promised.
Please consider a donation to the Davenport Schools Foundation through the Birdies for Charity program. DSF is Birdie 969.
