FIRST LADY OF IOWA VISITS MADISON ELEMENTARY TO
PRESENT FREE BOOKS TO KINDERGARTEN STUDENTS

In keeping with her efforts to support literacy throughout the state, Iowa First Lady Christie Vilsack will be visiting Madison Elementary at 1:15 p.m. on Thursday, May 5th to read aloud and then distribute free books to all kindergartners at the school.

The event will take place in the Madison Library Media Center.  In addition to talking about the importance of reading, Mrs. Vilsack is planning to involve students in other literacy activities and provide a quick question-and-answer session for the children.

A former teacher/librarian, Mrs. Vilsack has been a strong proponent of literacy for all ages.
