IT IS A GREAT DAY TO BE A BLUE DEVIL ~ here are your Daily Announcements:

The art department would like to congratulate Kayla Shinn for receiving the Don Haggen Memorial scholarship through the Figge Museum. Kayla was the only Davenport student to secure one of these prestigious art scholarships and will be able to use this scholarship as she pursues her love of academics and art in college. Great Job Kayla! Central’s art department is very proud of your accomplishment!

Last Saturday the girls track & field team traveled to Linn-Mar to face some of the best teams in the state on a chilly, breezy afternoon. The team recorded 19 season-best performances highlighted by Vonna Rumley and Marissa Robertson in the shot put, and by Brooklyn Johnson in the long jump. Then last night on a perfect afternoon at the Davenport Relays at Brady Stadium the team turned in another 12 season bests highlighted by medals in the shot put, high jump, 4-by-800, and distance medley relays. Medalists were Elizabeth Barfels, Anissya Cuffie, Allison Fellner, Tessa Goodwin, Bella Guy, Alora Howard, Neah Howlett, Krystal Lang, KyaSue Locke, Noelle Smith, and Jahlaysia Wells Young.

Current sophomores and juniors has it ever been a dream of yours to travel to Europe? Have you ever wanted to see the London Bridge or Big Ben? How about the Eifel Tower and the Notre Dame Cathedral? Ever wondered what Omaha Beach looked like in Normandy? How about seeing the remnants of the Berlin Wall in Germany? Well, you have the chance to see all of this plus more while experiencing these diverse cultures in June of 2020. What do you need to do? All you need to do is convince your parents to come to the mandatory informational meeting TODAY at 6pm in Central’s Cafeteria to find out more about this amazing opportunity. If you have any questions or for some reason you can’t attend the informational meeting see Mr. Pigney in room 523 before or after school.

Students are reminded that they are not to park in the Trinity Cathedral parking lot.  Vehicles parked illegally in this area may be towed.
