IT IS A GREAT DAY TO BE A BLUE DEVIL ~ here are your Daily Announcements:
Congratulations to the girls track & field team for a great State meet last weekend! In relays the 4-by-800 of Lois Blackman, Aniah Smith, Tessa Goodwin, and Elizabeth Barfels ran their fastest time of the season in 90-degree weather to finish 21st, and the shuttle hurdle relay of Kaitlin Carr, Hailie Dreyer, Hana Senter, and Nacari Bryant lined up Saturday morning after a 36-hour lightning delay. Individually Cindy Gabriel Flores was 23rd in the discus and KeaVonna Rumley was 18th in the shot put. Special congratulations to freshman Brooklyn Johnson who came into the meet seeded only 13th but had a great series in the long jump, earning a 5th-place medal!
Indigo Ink is Central’s literary and art magazine, and we are celebrating! Our 8th edition of the magazine has just been printed! Congratulations to our editors, Jack Bevans, Bella Guy, and Wyeth Platt for their guidance and expertise in putting together another amazing publication. Come to the Indigo Ink release party on Wednesday, May 22nd during DC Time in the library. Sign up to attend for DC Time under TAG and Heninger. At the party, you can pick up a piece of yummy cake and your free copy of the magazine. If you cannot attend, come to room 501 and pick up a copy.
Hey Central Blue devils! Please join us in celebrating the end of the school year with our spring spirit week! Tomorrow is tie-dye Tuesday then Wacky sock Wednesday, Tacky Tourist Thursday, and finally is Fanatic Friday! Spirit week also includes taping the principal to the wall! (5/20)
Tomorrow, during all lunches $1 will buy you a strip of tape to use to stick Mr. Flynn to the wall. At the end of D lunch, we will remove the chair from under his feet and see if he sticks!! All money goes to new outdoor tables!!!!
Congratulations to the cardboard boat team made up of Zeke Wynsma, Logan Van Itallie, Dennis Clemenson, and Sarah Van Liere for their successful run of a cardboard boat, winning Most Innovative Design at the Cardboard Regatta on Friday. Beating out 37 teams from all over the Quad Cities, this team worked hard to create the Friendship Sloop. Well done team!
All students who were in AP US History or AP online courses this year can pick up their AP shirts in room 305 if they have not already received one.
Attention all student’s with over the counter medications at school: Please have your parent or guardian contact the school nurse about arranging pick up for medications. All medications not picked up by the last day of school will be destroyed. Please visit the nurse’s office for any questions or concerns.
