Iowa College Aid The cost of higher education can be reduced significantly when students tap into a broad assortment of scholarships and grants. Some of these funds are disbursed through State of Iowa programs administered by the Commission. Most colleges and universities offer scholarships or grants to students who meet specific eligibility conditions. Many community and corporate entities also sponsor scholarship programs. Application processes and deadlines vary with each program. A completed FAFSA is used to determine eligibility for all government-funded grants, federal student loans, and many forms of student financial aid.
