Scholastic Bowl

Description of Group:

Do you love to watch Jeopardy? Are you good at Trivial Pursuit? Do you have a lot of random facts in your brain? If so, Scholastic Bowl needs you! Scholastic Bowl is an academic competition where high schools compete against each other on a variety of academic questions. The team answers questions ranging from United State History to Math/Science to Sports to the Arts. It’s fun – it’s fast paced – and it’s educational!

Supervisor:

Gail Heninger
Room 501

Time Commitment Required:

The team begins meeting in September to start practicing for the Scholastic Bowl season. We typically practice once a week before tournaments, but take breaks during our off tournament times. We try to make it to 4 or 5 tournaments per year. We also take place in Knowledge Master Open Competitions, which take place during the school day, once in the fall and once in the spring.

Procedures for Joining:

We have three Scholastic Bowl here at Central, a freshman team, a sophomore team, and a Varsity team of juniors and seniors. Please see Mrs. Heninger in room 501 to discuss joining a team. Teams usually form at the beginning of the year.
