Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF

During October, Key Club will be sponsoring a Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF fundraising campaign. UNICEF is an international development organization that saves, improves and protects the lives of children in 158 countries. Your donation will help UNICEF fight iodine deficiency and give all children the chance they deserve.

Iodine deficiency is a disorder that dramatically impairs children's mental and physical development. Chronic iodine deficiency causes severe mental retardation and physical disabilities, and even mild iodine deficiency can diminish children's learning capability and impair their physical growth. Every year, iodine deficiency robs 20 million children of their intellect and strength.

Iodizing salt is a simple and cost-effective method of eliminating iodine deficiency worldwide. It costs just five cents each year to protect a child from iodine deficiency and a lifetime of lost potential. UNICEF and Kiwanis International (Key Club's parent organization) are committed to eliminating iodine deficiency, and the Kiwanis International Foundation will match every dollar we raise.

Every classroom has a Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF box, and students, parents and staff are encouraged to donate. Future Blue Devils can participate by trick-or-treating for UNICEF. This activity, a tradition since 1950, is a fun and easy way for parents and young students to support this wonderful cause. Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF boxes are available at Pier 1 Imports or from Ms. Franks in room 509.

Support Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF. Small change makes a big difference.
