Parent Organization: Kiwanis International

Meeting Time: Tuesdays at 2:45

Purpose of Club: Key Club is about helping others and making a difference. We are a completely student led organization that teaches leadership through serving others, and are part of Key Club International, the world's largest and oldest service program for high school students. The Key Club of Central High School offers a range of service opportunities to its members. During the 2003-2004 school year, our 96 members completed over 1500 hours of community service. Projects included organizing an Easter egg hunt for children affected by cancer, starting a reading/mentoring program at a local elementary school, making care dolls for children at the Children's Hospital of Iowa, holding a 24 hour fast to raise money to fight the food crisis in the region of Southern Africa, and volunteering at Gilda's Club, Manor Care and Genesis Medical Center.
