  • Sensory Park

Students in Mrs. Ott’s art classes were asked to create and install an outdoor sensory park for Truman Elementary school. They had to research what a sensory park was first and then looked at different examples of what would make up the design of it. Students decided to go with garden, animal, ocean and space themes. The artwork is painted on the blacktop and allows park users to go through different paths that allow them to run, jump, tiptoe, hop, swim, flutter and balance. We are so happy with how it came out and will be going over to Truman within the next couple weeks to show the students how to use the playground! The artwork completely changed the space and brought in such a fun splash of color. We are extremely grateful to Truman’s principal, Chrissy Willis, for giving us the opportunity and can’t wait to see all the littles playing on the paths creative minds created!
