Fund the use of propane kitchen for one internally displaced Darfurian for one day….$1. Fund protection for an average of one person by providing firewood patrols…$3. Help one internally displaced household generate income…$80. That warm fuzzy feeling you get when you know you’ve helped save someone’s life…PRICELESS. Over 400,000 people have been murdered in Darfur due to the genocide since 2003, when the government began sponsoring the Janjaweed, a militia that uses displacement, organized starvation, and mass murder to perpetrate genocide. By donating just 3 dollars on December 5th you can help fund darfurian families by providing them with propane kitchens and firewood patrol; you will also help to provide an effective peacekeeping force to protect civilians in Darfur. So what are you going to do on December 5th…buy a cup of coffee or feed a starving family? Bring 3 dollars on December 5th to the cafeteria during all lunches. TOGETHER WE CAN SAVE. 12/4

University of Iowa Upward Bound is cancelled for tonight. 12/4

Quote of the moment:
One ought never to turn one's back on a threatened danger and try to run away from it. If you do that, you will double the danger. But if you meet it promptly and without flinching, you will reduce the danger by half.
-Sir Winston Churchill
