Announcements for 11-24-08

Last night started the Bowling season with Central going up against West at 30 Lanes. It was a great first match which had Our Varsity Women's Bowling Team setting a new Team Total School Record and winning by 182 pins in the process. Leading the way was Captain Erin Abbas shooting a 200 and 217, and Theresa Diggs with a meet high 245. Great start girls.

The Men were led by Matt Schlueter shooting 229 and 225, and Jeff Diggs shooting 206 and 215 but fell short in a great match by 77 pins. Our next match is next Monday against North Scott at Miller Time Bowl at 5:00 pm. Become a bowling fan and come watch.

Are you interested in Mock Trial this year? If you are, please come to a brief Mock Trial organizational meeting on Monday, November 30th at 2:45 p.m. in room 501. This will be a competitive year, so there will be a selective process to determine the teams. If you cannot make it to the meeting, be sure to stop by and pick up an application from Mrs. Heninger in room 501. The applications are due by 2:45 p.m. on Monday, December 7th or you will not be considered for a position on a team.

Attention yearbook staff—don’t forget tonight’s meeting right after school in Mrs. Jasper’s room. You need to bring your beat sheets. One other reminder ------- your ten ad sales contacts and completed spreads are due by December 1st! Get them done! See you tonight!

Newspaper 14th Block Students be sure to check in this week either Monday or Tuesday. All assignments are posted. They are due in the computer and approved by Dec. 4 with a hard copy to Buttleman.

We will have a representative from the US Naval Academy at 10:00 am, in the guidance office conference room. Stop and get a pass if interested in visiting with them.

French Club Members. It’s time to get the word out about French club! We won a prestigious lottery and will be allowed to decorate a display case on the 2nd floor by the cafeteria.

Perhaps you have memorabilia from your last trip to Paris? Perhaps you have souvenirs from someone else’s trip? Perhaps you have French artifacts such as: berets, baguettes or bisoux! Please bring them to room 339 and at our next French Club Meeting, we will decorate away!

Art Club has been cancelled for this afternoon.…we will see you next week !
