Announcements for 11-16-09

  • United Neighbors of Davenport is in need of high school age tutors. United Neighbors offers after school tutoring throughout the school year at United Neighbors and Progressive Baptist Church. The days and times are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 4:30 to 6:30 pm. If you can help with this community service need, please come see Mrs. Heninger in room 501.

  • Two Reminders from Nurse Teresa: 1) If you are donating blood on Wednesday be sure to eat a good breakfast in the morning and drink a couple of glasses of water with your breakfast. 2) All Freshmen and new students from out of state are required to bring a dental form to the nurse's office. Please call your dentist for an appt.

  • This is a reminder that the Varsity Scholastic Bowl team is practicing tomorrow morning at 7:00 a.m. See you there!

  • The Freshman/Sophomore Scholastic Bowl team is practicing on Thursday morning at 7:00 a.m. this week. We are beginning our preparation for Knowledge Master Open on December 2nd. All freshman and sophomores are invited to attend.

  • The first Drama Club Activity will be today after school in Room 417. As always, new members are welcome!

  • Students going on the field trip with Mrs. Hester on Tuesday, November 17 to Blackhawk College must meet at 7:30 a.m. at the 12th Street entrance.

  • Spanish Club will meet today after school with the Book Club. We’ll be discussing Sandra Cisneros’ “The House on Mango Street”. See Mrs. Heninger is you need a book.

  • Attention all JROTC Cadets: The re-test for the Marksmanship safety test is today at Brady Stadium after school. All testers need to be at the locker room ASAP after school.

  • Congratulations to the following cadets for passing and receiving a 100% on the first safety test: Brandon Snell, Megan Watson, Mitch Newkirk, Ryan Klein,. Lucas Duhaime, Josh Wall, Andrew Lemus, Ashley Bolio, Paige Gomez, and Ciera Severson. This years Marksmanship Team Captain is Josh Wall.
