Announcements for 11-12-07

All girls who are interested in being part of this year's Track & Field team must come to a meeting this Thursday after school in room 627. See Coach Trujillo or Coach Rangel for more information. 11-15

Attention Students: the Spirit program meeting will not take place this week. A new meeting will be scheduled at a later time. 11-12

Congratulations to the BlackhawK Newspaper Staff who received 8th Place in the NSPA National Best of Show Competition November 10 in Philadelphia. Also congratulations to JEA National Write Off winners: Jonathan Welser Superior in Advertising; Grant Kilmer Excellent in Editorial Writing; and Nina Rayburn Honorable Mention in Review Writing. 11-12

The newspaper lab will be open until 4 stories are due. 11-12

We will have representatives from Wartburg College - Waverly, IA @ 9:00 am in the guidance office tomorrow, Tuesday, November 13th. Stop and get a pass if interested in visiting with them. 11-12

Lady Cross country runners that have not yet turned in your uniforms: Please bring them to the banquet tonight. If the uniforms are not returned, fine cards will be issued. 11-12

The Central Freshman and Sophomore Scholastic Bowl teams were in action this weekend at the Moline High School Invitational Tournament.  Considering our youth and inexperience, both teams did quite well in the competition.  Sophomore Scholastic Bowl team members were:  Kenton Creen, Angela Barr,  Katie Hixon, Mercedes Masias, Tori Quist, Kelsey Roebuck, and Kelsey Tope.  Freshman team members were:  Courtney Brokloff, Neal Crooks, Peter Elkin, Kaylyn Maher, Jonathan O'Leary, Sarah Rudnick, and Mary Warhank.  Thank you to all of you that participated, and congratulations for a job well done. 11-12

Don’t forget to get your tickets for Jingle Jam!  We have a limited amount of tickets, and you wouldn’t want to miss out.  Jingle Jam will be held on Wednesday, November 21st from 8:00 p.m. to 11:30p.m.at the River Center in Davenport.  Besides having a fantastic time dancing, your ticket purchase enters you in a raffle for some great prizes. Jingle Jam tickets are on sale now for $15 in the Activities Office. 11-14

Attention all winter cheerleaders. There will be a mandatory meeting today at 3:00PM in the Cafeteria. Immediately following the meeting, we will have our first practice. Come prepared to participate. If you are not able to attend, you must see Mrs. Buechel by Friday. 11-12

Attention all Fall Sports Athletes: The Fall Sports Athletic Banquet will be held TONIGHT at 6:00pm in the auditorium. Don’t forget Fall Sports Banquet will be held; Monday, November 12, 2007 in the auditorium. See you there! 11-12

Attention all seniors! Herff Jones is here right now until 1:00pm in the cafeteria. Please turn in all graduation forms for announcements, cap/gown/tassel, etc. If you do not have your forms here today, please see Mr. O’neil at the table today. All seniors, remember graduation is June 8th and we need you to start preparing today for the big day!

Tomorrow is Central Idol 2008. If you bring $1.00 to your fourth block teacher you will be able to attend tomorrow.

Attention all sophomores! Tomorrow at 9:30 there is a short sophomore meeting in the auditorium.
