Announcements for 11-11-09
Congratulations to Mrs. Kresse’s 3rd Block class. They were the winners of the classroom food collection competition and recipients of a giant cookie. Also, a big thank you to the Central High School community for all they contributed to this year’s Student Food Drive. Even though we did not win, we made a huge contribution to the area’s hungry and needy.
Because of the musical matinee, commons today will be held in the IMC.
Any baseball player who missed the organizational meeting should sign up in the activities office room 441.
Reminder to all Seniors…. Herff Jones will be here today taking orders for Senior announcements and caps and gowns. They will be here from 10:20 -12:20 pm in the Cafeteria.
Bowling is a sanctioned Varsity sport for Men and Women - It is a winter sport and official tryouts for participating on the team are this Friday at Bowlmor Lanes starting at 3:15 pm. There is a manditory parents meeting this Thursday night at Bowlmor Lanes after the intramural league - approximately 5 to 5:15 pm. All kids and parents should attend. Our first meet is Nov. 23rd against West.
What do a Central T-shirt and the cover of Indigo Ink Literary and Art Magazine have in common? Both are prizes awarded to the winner of Indigo Ink's cover contest. Submit your black, white, and indigo artwork to room 501. The due date for the cover is December 18th. If you need more information about the criteria for the cover contest, see Mrs. Heninger in room 501, see your art teacher, or speak with Kelsey Roebuck, Tori Quist, or Angela Barr.
Attention ALL cheerleaders, this is a reminder of the fundraiser this Saturday November 14th @ 12:30 at Brady Street Stadium. If you have a conflict contact Coach Jen ASAP!
How would you like to save a life? Or better yet, 3 lives? You can do it easily by donating blood next Wed. during Central High School’s Fall Blood Drive. You must be 16 years old and have a parent sign the consent form. See a STUCO representative to sign up.
Spanish Club will meet NEXT Monday with the Book Club. We’ll be discussing Sandra Cisneros’ “The House on Mango Street”. See Mrs. Heninger is you need a book.
All students in destination Imagination, we have a practice this Thursday after school in room 501. All members are expected to be there, if you can not make the practice contact Mrs. Heninger
Attention all out of season athletes that have been lifting after school: The weight room will be closed after school until after Thanksgiving Break. The weight room will re-open on Monday November 30th.
For all Drama Club members and those interested in joining, meetings are held the second and fourth Mondays of each month after school.
We will have a representative from Scott Community College today at 9:00 am, in the guidance office conference room. Stop and get a pass if interested in visiting with them.
All 5th Block STUCO members: Mandatory Check-in is Thursday of this week, right after school.
