Announcements for 11-06-07

The GSA will be holding it’s first discussion on Thursday November 8th in Kemper 12 at 2:45 PM. The discussion will address general questions and concerns in the GLBT community. All students and staff are encouraged to attend. If there are questions, please see Ms. Cox or Koree Allinger. 11-8

Attention God spell cast and crew: We will be tearing down the set, tying up all loose ends, and having a celebration today after school in the auditorium. Please make sure you can be there. "Snacks will be provided"? 11-6

Attention staff and students, there are still several God spell t-shirts available for $16 a piece. If you are interested contact Mrs. McMahon in room 411. 11-7

To all art club members: There will be a special speaker at our meeting after school. Please try to attend! 11-6

The following Senior football players need to see Coach Duvall today in Room 527: Ben Behrendt, Dallas Burke, Eric Howe, Ben Whitford and Jordan Martinez. 11-6

Central Idol will be on Tuesday, November 13 during 4th block. You can see Liz Rickert, Sean Cunningham, Breanna Morrison, Breanna Levi, and Mrs. Marshall vie for the title of Central Idol. For a $1 donation to the Student Food Drive you can witness this abundance of talent. That’s Tuesday 4th block, $1. Be there. 11-6

Tuesday, immediately after school, there is a mandatory practice for students presenting in Philadelphia. The lab will be open until the mandatory parent/student meeting for those competing in Philadelphia at 7. Other newspaper students, this is the last day this week Ms Buttleman will be in the lab. Check in for stories are required as they are due Monday November 11. 11-6

We are continuing to collect cans for the 2007 Student Food Drive and would like to ask for YOUR help! We will be having a can collecting contest during 3rd block classes. All canned food is acceptable, as well as any non-perishable food items. Money will also be acceptable. $1 is equivalent to 3 pounds. The winner of the can collecting contest will be the class with the most pounds and will be treated to an ice cream party!!! Thanks again for all your help in order to STOP HUNGER! ACCEPTABLE ITEMS:canned veggies, fruit juices, tuna, meals, pork and beans, stews; UNACCEPTABLE ITEMS: NO perishable items (anything that will spoil), NO pet food, NO clothes, NO bulk items, NO soda, We will be picking up your filled boxes by November 9, 2007 (Friday) but will accept additional items by Monday (at the latest). If you have any questions or concerns please contact Mrs. Hosmer in the library. 11-6

We will have representatives from Scott Community College at 11:00 am and Drake University at 1:15 pm in the guidance office today. Stop and get a pass if interested in visiting with them. 11-6

We will have a representative from the Navy in the cafeteria today during all lunches. 11-6

There will not be a Sophomore Scholastic Bowl practice on Wednesday morning this week.  However, we will have a freshman Scholastic Bowl practice on Friday, November 9th at 7:00 a.m.  If you are planning on going to the Moline tournament this Saturday, you need to be at Moline High School at 8:40 am. Saturday morning.  If you need directions, come see Mrs. Heninger. 11-6

This morning there is a senior meeting in the auditorium. This meeting is to discuss graduation information and should last from 9:30-10:00am. Please excuse seniors during this time out of 2nd block. There will be an announcement to dismiss students from class, and another when the meeting concludes. 11-6

Mr. & Mrs. Blue Devil and the Pudding Eating Contest have been cancelled. Any student who would like to attend Central Idol, the date has changed. If you pay $1.00 to the Student Food Drive you can attend this assembly during 4th block on Tuesday, November 13th at 1:30, and see some great Central talent perform in George Marshall Gym! 11-6

Shades of Success/Boys to Men will meet as usual in room 419 on Wednesday at 1:40pm. We have a very special guest, so please be prompt. All of the students who went on the fieldtrip to St. Ambrose last Thursday, please see Ms. Teague today. 11-6

German Club members, please meet in Mr. K's room Tuesday, November 6th after school. We will elect club officers and get information on our next club activity, a field trip to the German heritage Center. Bis dann! 11-6

Students going to national competition in Philadelphia, there is a mandatory student and parent meeting Tuesday at 7 p.m. Practice tutoring will be offered noon -4 for those speaking or wanting help with competition work. 11-6
