Announcements for 10-30-09

  • Last night the Central Lady D’s faced a formidable opponent, the Bettendorf Bulldogs. Bettendorf showed they came to play in set 1 winning it by a score of 25 to Central’s 22. The Lady D’s fought back in set 2 with ruinous power kills, brilliant passing to win. The Lady D’s made a statement in set three easily controlling Bettendorf by a score of 25 to 17. Everyone but Bettendorf thought the match was over at the start of set four. The Lady D’s faltered a bit, lost their focus and subsequently lost set 4 by a score of 13 to 25. The fifth and final set was all Lady D’s. Showing great poise, the Lady D’s eradicated any trace of hopes that Bettendorf might have held for continuing post season play by the final match score of Central 15, Bettendorf 12.

  • The team and coaches would sincerely like to thank our Marshall Maniacs who again turned out in such profusion with such strong support that it gave the Bettendorf gym the appearance of a Central home game.
