Announcements for 10-27-09

  • We’re in the playoffs ladies and gentlemen. Would you like to attend the football game? Central Football playoff student bus tickets can be purchased for $10.00 in the activities office before, or after school and in between classes. The Student Fan bus will leave Central High School (by the smoke stacks) at 4:30 pm on Wednesday October 28th and head to Dubuque Hempstead for the playoff game. Note: the cost of the bus ticket does not include your ticket to get into the game.

  • Game tickets will be available in the activities office tomorrow for $8.00 or you can purchase them at the game. We will announce the time on when we will start selling the tickets.

  • Last night the Central Lady D’s Varsity Volleyball team extended their season by defeating a frustrated North High school Wildcats team in three straight sets. The score in the first set see-sawed back and forth with Central coming from behind to win the game. Game two found the Lady D’s in control and dominating the Wildcats with powerful hitting, ace serving and intimidating blocking. North attempted to stage a comeback in game three, but the Lady D’s crushed North’s offense and easily won the match in game three. The Lady D’s relied heavily on the entire team to pick up the challenge for several sick or injured players. The team would like to thank the many staff and student fans who supported us last night and hope you will be able to join us in an even tougher challenge this Thursday against Bettendorf at Bettendorf as the Central High Lady D’s will try to move one step closer to the trip to the state championship round in Cedar Rapids in early November.
