Announcements for 10-25-07Congratulations to this year’s representatives to the Iowa Youth Congress. Your representatives are: Ebony Butler, Devin Farrell, Katie Kustes, Leiana Arcenas, Courtney Lopez, Nick DeLa Cruz, Brittany Cortez If you would like to make your voice heard with the Government of Iowa please talk to one of your representatives this week so they will know what issues are important to Central High School. Legislation proposed by the Iowa Youth Congress, become bills in the House of Representatives and is acted upon by the House. So if you ever have said,” There should be a law about that”, now is the time to take action and work for change. Bring your concerns to your reps today. 10-25 It’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas… start your shopping early at the DC Football Moms table. Or at least send your parents there to buy a few of your gifts. Add these to your list: a Brady Street Bunch t-shirt, a drawstring bag, and a foam seat to carry right into basketball season. If you feel like you have to buy something for mom and dad – get a Blue Devil stadium seat. They can share and you’re only out $35! And don’t forget, today’s the last day to buy your Best Seat in the House raffle ticket from a Blue Devil cheerleader. 10-25 Congratulations to the entire freshman football team for defeating a strong West team 26-16 Tuesday night at Brady Street Stadium. The rock solid defense played outstanding and was led by, Coy Vincent, Logan Peteschmidt, Kevin Gilmore, Lavell Wash, and Brain Moeller. Our offense played equally well with excellent performances from Tony Bakeris, and Kyle Franklin. Special “game ball” recognition goes out to Blake Moe, Dwayne Phillips and Demerus Gordon who gave an exceptional effort on both sides of the ball. What a way to end the season!!! Congratulations to all!!!!!!! 10-25 If you are Read’n Rap participant, you need to make sure that you email your partner this week about the assigned reading. Come see Mrs. Heninger if you need some clarification on what you should be doing. 10-25 The following students need to see Mr. Gill immediately after school today…Kate Baker, Lauren Hodson, Andrew Larson, David Marley and Dana Moe. 10-25 Lady Blue Devil Cross Country Runners!! Coach Peiffer still needs your uniforms and warm ups. He will be @ Brady Street Stadium Monday through Thursday from 4-5:15. Also if you ordered Sweats, they are here, they will be at the Stadium tonight. 10/25 The sculpture show in Chicago is November 2. Interested students need to get trip money in to the Art Department no later than Wednesday this week. It's just $32 for the bus and the show! Students will have a chance to see cutting-edge sculpture from all over the world. Check into the Art Department for details. 10-26 Students going to IHSPA state need to be at Kemper at 6:30. The bus leaves at 6:45. Have paper, pencil, drawing materials, stylebooks, and cameras and download cards with you. Be sure to bring money for lunch. Students will be back by 4p.m. String books not in today must be placed in the box outside K14 before 3p.m. Thursday. Tonight is your last chance to get tear sheet materials. 10-25 Newspaper students required paste-up is 10-4 Saturday and 9-3 Sunday. 10-25 There will be a mandatory meeting for all boys 9-12th grade going out for basketball this year. The meeting will be on Tuesday Oct 30th at 2:45 pm in the gym. 10-30
