Good luck to the 22 CHS vocal students who will be auditioning tomorrow in Fairfield, Iowa against many of the state’s top vocalists for a spot in the 600 voice ALL STATE CHOIR. To be chosen for the All State choir is one of the top honors in the state for vocalists, and we wish all of our auditionees the best of luck.
Central’s book club is ready for our next book! We are joining forces with Spanish Club to read a relevant Mexican-American story. Our second book of the year is called The House on Mango Street and is written by Sandra Cisneros. The House on Mango Street is made up of 44 short character sketches and stories called vignettes. Cisneros draws on her rich Latino heritage and seduces the reader with precise, spare prose, and unforgettable characters. If you are interested in getting a copy of this book, come quickly to room 501, as there are only 15 copies. We will discuss the book on Monday, November 16th after school in room 501 so you have about a month to read the book. Central, let's get reading!
