We will have representatives from Illinois Wesleyan University at 10:30 am and Kirkwood Community College at 1:00 pm in the guidance office today. Stop and get a pass if interested in visiting with them. 10-22

Congratulations to the Lady D’s Volleyball team for winning in the first round regional match last night against North. This Wednesday, the team will play Iowa City West in Iowa City. Any student who would like to ride on the student bus to Iowa City (leaving Central at 5:30pm in the south parking lot) needs to sign up today in the Activities Office. It will cost $12.00 to ride on the bus. Support your Lady D’s and head up to Iowa City tomorrow night on the Tri-State Tours Bus! 10-22

Its finals week and you know what that means… you’ll have to pass the DC Football Moms test on Friday night. Stop at their table before the FINAL football game and present your school i.d. to receive the FINAL give-aways. This week it’s Blue Devil mega-phones and window clings! That’s right, 2 give-aways thanks to last week’s rain and our sponsors, Steve & Kevin Wellman at Suburban Home Mortgage, Mike Richards of QC Wellness & Rehab, and Dr. Colin Howe of Eye Care Pavilion. 10-23

Have you always loved pudding? Do you have a natural talent for eating fast? Do you have a bottomless pit for a stomach? Do you think you think you have what it takes to be a part of the first ever CHS Pudding Eating Contest Championship Team? On November 7, Student Council will be hosting the first ever CHS Pudding Eating Contest in the gym supporting the Student Food Drive. Sign up for the Pudding Eating Contest outside of the LMC with five of your friends. Cost is $3 per person. Sign up by Monday November 4th to ensure your place in the competition. If you don’t like pudding but still want to support the Food Drive, bring $1 to your 4th block class November 7th to watch the contest at 1:00. 10-23

Want to help out the hungry and win a prize at the same time? Do you love competing with other classes? Then bring food cans or money to your third block teacher before the end of this term. One dollar equals three cans. The class with the most cans and money will win. Everyone in the winning class will receive ice cream. There will be another contest during second term. So start bringing in cans or money to your third block teacher so that you can be the winning class!!! 10-23

Attention publications students going to the University of Iowa for journalism state competition and classes. You need to see Ms Buttleman Malcolm today for check off and materials update. Students should be at school at 6:30 Thursday as the bus will leave at 6:45 A.M. 10-23

Newspaper students your string books are due by the end of school Wednesday. This is your final project Exam grade worth 20%. No updates (including service hours and ad log), analysis, and mounting- no credit. Get what you need from the lab today. You are responsible for your own glue/sheets/ and book. Also all materials for issue 3 must be complete Wednesday. 10-23

The sculpture show in Chicago is November 2. Interested students need to get trip money in to the Art Department no later than Wednesday this week. It's just $32 for the bus and the show! Students will have a chance to see cutting-edge sculpture from all over the world. Check into the Art Department for details. 10-26

Hey Blue Crew members, there will be a brief Blue Crew meeting in the IMC on Wednesday at 7:15. See you there. 10-23

Lady Blue Devil Cross Country Runners: Coach Peiffer still needs your uniforms and warm ups. He will be @ Brady Street Stadium Monday through Thursday from 4-5:15. 10-25

Attention all boys cross country members, Coach will be at the stadium today Tuesday 10/23 from 3:00 -4:00 pm. You are to turn in your clean uniforms and warm-ups and clean out your locker and hand in your locks. This is a must. 10-23
