It’s been a great Spirit Week! The fun’s not over, though! Make sure to get to Brady Street Stadium in time for this year’s Homecoming Parade just before the varsity football game. The parade will leave CHS at 6 pm and head up to the stadium. Plus, don’t forget the Homecoming Dance tomorrow night in George Marshall gym from 8 to 11 pm. Bring a date, or come with a group of friends- just make sure you have your ID with you or you will not be admitted into the dance.
The Girls Swim Team swept Tipton last night in both JV and Varsity. JV won 52 to 11 and Varsity won 68 to 26.
JV results include: First place finishes in the 200 Medley relay of Meghan Ryan, Ashton Dooley, Sarah Foster and Petra Hahn; Yesenia Cook, Ragan Carlson, Katie Voigts and Emmaline Jurgena in the 200 Free Relay; Meghan Ryan in the 200 and 500 Free; Elizabeth Fritz in the 200 IM; Ashton Dooley in the 100 Free; Emily Fritz in the 100 Back and Petra Hahn in the 100 Breast.
For Varsity first place finishes included: Ellie Wilder, Emma Shie, KElsey Stanger and Mary Betsworth in the 200 Medley Relay and 200 Free Relay; Kelsey Stanger, Kathleen Gaertnier, Ashton Dooley and Erin Abbas in the 400 Free Relay; Emma Shie in the 200 IM and 100 Back; Mary Betsworth in the 50 and 100 Free; Rachael Herman in the 100 Fly; Kathleen Gaertnier in the 500 Free and Elizabeth Fritz in the 100 Breast.
Come support the girls on Tuesday against Davenport West, it is senior night.
We will have a representative from La James International, Monday, Oct 12 at 9:00 am in the guidance office conference room. Stop and get a pass if interested in visiting with them.
All sophomores in band, choir, or orchestra who missed the fruit and nut fundraiser kick off on Tuesday due to the special testing can pick up a sales packet from their director. Likewise, any music student who is NOT currently enrolled in a music class first term but wishes to participate in the fundraiser should also stop in to get a sales packet from one of the directors.
Hey all Car Rally participants: if you have turned in an entry form without the name of your float on it, please do so or points will be deducted from your float.
Attention Students: College Night is Monday, October 12, at St. Ambrose University’s Rogalski Center from 5:00pm to 7:30pm. Don’t miss out on this excellent opportunity to meet with representatives from colleges, universities, and technical colleges.
Do you like to sing? Do you like to sing in front of people? Well we want you to audition for Central Idol! Central Idol auditions will be held Friday October 16th, right after school in the Auditorium.
This is a reminder that the deadline for registering for the PSAT test is Friday, October 16th. Please stop by the guidance office and register today.
V.I.D. Club will be working on some special features for the Brady Street Scoreboard that highlights our Homecoming. Please come to work sessions if you are available each night this week. Also, if anyone has photographs and/or video that feature activities of the week (such as powder puff game, bonfire, dress-up days, etc.) , please feel free to donate them to V.I.D. club by directing them to Mr. Balsar.
Anyone wishing to be on the Varsity or Junior Varsity Bowling Teams needs to attend a meeting at Bowlmor Lanes on today at 3:05pm. After a brief meeting you can bowl 3 games for free. We will discuss schedules, eligibility, physicals and more.
Students -you may pick up the Final Opt Out forms in the counselor’s office starting Monday, October 12th in the morning and Tuesday, October 13th. You may not pick up a form on Wednesday. They are due to the Guidance office by 3:00 on Wednesday, October 14.
First, you must have all teachers sign the form that you are passing their class.
Second, you go back to the teachers that you want to opt out of the final and have them record your grade, your attendance, and sign it.
Third, be sure you and your parents sign the form.
Fourth, it must be turned in by 3:00 on Wednesday, October 14th. No exception.

Support the Blue Devil Booster Club and purchase raffle tickets for a Wilson NFL Football autographed by Central's very own Roger Craig! Entries will be sold at tonights Homecoming football game throughout the stadium. The winner will be announced prior to the start of the 4th quarter. Spanish Club has a float in tonight’s parade- come be part of the Fiesta Under the Sea- meet in the South parking lot at 5:15. New and first-time members are encouraged to come. Also, don’t forget to come to Monday’s meeting in Room 331 right after school. Nos vemos!
Since the weather is getting cold outside, if any of you need a coat due to the cold weather, please stop in the nurse’s office on the 4th floor.
