  • The First Amendment gives us the right to let our voices be heard, but can anyone hear what you have to say?  Check out Indigo Ink, where you can express your thoughts, beliefs, dreams, and opinions through artwork and creative writing.  Information about this literary and arts magazine can be found in room 501, or with your English and Art teachers.  Come on Blue Devils, show us your Indigo Spirit! 10-1
  • Newspaper students in 6th block- don't forget to check in before 3 Monday or Tuesday- all stories are due Friday. Students interested in submitting writing, art or photography to Blackhawk Bricolage please get work to Kemper 12 or 14 by Oct.1. 9-30
  • We will have a representative from Trinity College of Nursing at 10:00 am, in the guidance office conference room today. Stop and get a pass if interested in visiting with them. 9-30
  • Attention Central Speech Team members: Today immediately following 4th block we will be conducting a practice student congress in room 306. Anyone specifically interested in congress, or the speech team in general, should plan on attending. 9-30
  • This is a reminder that there will be an important meeting after school today for Art Club. All students interested in attending the S.O.F.A. Trip to Chicago should plan to attend. We will also be announcing key positions on the Art Club Team. 9-30
  • Homecoming t-shirts will be passed out during lunch tomorrow. Anyone that ordered a homecoming t-shirt and did not pay for it needs to have the money turned in by 2:40 today. If it is not paid, it will be sold. 9-30
  • Just a reminder, tonight the Central Girls Volleyball program is playing at Pleasant Valley! Sophomore and JV play at 5:45 and the varsity game starts at 7:00. Hope to see you there!! 9-30
  • Student ID’s and retake pictures are in, please stop by the Activities Office during passing time or after school to pick them up. 10-1
  • Any student that has not turned in a free and reduced application by Thursday, October 2nd will automatically be paid on Friday. If you need an application, stop by any cashier and pick on up. 10-2
  • Did you know that there may be as many as 300,000 child soldiers hopped up on drugs and wielding AK-47’s, in more than fifty conflicts around the world? Ishmael Beah (pronounced: Bay uh) used to be one of those soldiers, and he is telling his story. He has written the book, A Long Way Gone, which is his heart-wrenching tale of his struggle during the Sierra Leone civil war of the 1990’s. This book is Central’s first book club book for the year. We are having an introductory book club meeting on Thursday, October 2 at 2:45 p.m. in room 501, so plan to come.  Central, let's get reading! 10-2
  • The first choir concert of the year will take place on Monday, October 6, 2008, at North Scott High School at 7:30 pm. Tickets must be purchased in advance for this concert; they are currently available in the CHS Activities Office TICKET PRICES are $5 for adults and $3 for senior citizens/students. A limited number of tickets will be sold at the door the night of the concert, so get your tickets now! 10-4
  • Publications students attending the state convention Oct 13, bring your permission slips and money into Ms Buttleman or Mrs. Jasper. If you have lost your slip or did not get one - get it now. 10-4
  • Only 5 Days until Homecoming!!! Come with your friends or with a date to our “Welcome to the Jungle” Homecoming Dance, Saturday October 4th from 8-11pm in George Marshall Gym. Tickets are on sale now for $10.00 a piece in the Activities Office. If you are bringing a date from a different school you must purchase tickets ahead of time and have a permission slip signed by the school the date is currently attending stating the student is in good standing at the school. You can pick up permission slips in the Activities Office, as well. We encourage all students to attend this dance.
