Announcements for 09-23-09

  • The Girls Swim Team fell short to Muscatine last night 94 to 91. However, the Junior Varsity girls pulled off a victory 81 to 66. Top finishers included Petra Hahn, Sarah Foster, Mary Betsworth, Jesse Glasgow, Ashton Dooley, Meghan Ryan, Kathleen Gaertnier, and Emma Shie. Top relays included: Erin Abbas, Liz Fritz, Sarah Foster, and Emily Fritz along with Emma Shie, Annie Delleman, Ellie Wilder and Mary Betsworth. Tori Quist scored second and Jesse Mumm scored fifth in diving. Come out and watch the swimmers against the Bettendorf Bulldogs next Tuesday at 6:00. 9/23/09

  • Last night the Central Lady D's Freshmen Volleyball team easily defeated West in three straight games. Central's alert, agressive play kept West from ever really mounting an attack. All freshmen volleyball players contributed to the victory. Our next matches are Monday against a tough Bettendorf squad and Tuesday against a "Not-So-Pleasant" Valley team. We hope you can join us and support the team. 9/23/09

  • Congratulations to the Girls Volleyball Team on their victory last night against West! The JV team started off with a solid victory against the Falcons. Varsity had a rough start but came out strong the next games to bring their conference record to 5 and 0. The Girls are currently undefeated in the conference!!! Our next home game is Tuesday, September 29th against Pleasant Valley. Come out and Cheer on your Lady-D's!! 9/23/09

  • Good Morning Central High School- There’s a great opportunity available to our minority students interested in how politics really work. The Iowa Youth Congress is looking for five minority student leaders to participate in their annual Youth Congress held in Des Moines, Iowa. Interested Students should contact Mrs. Johnson or Mr. Woods ASAP. Iowa Youth Congress will meet in the Barb Hess room at 9:00 am on Monday September 28. Interested students should get a pass from their first block teacher. 9/28/09

  • We will have a representative from Buena Vista University at 11:30 am in the guidance office conference room. Stop and get a pass if interested in visiting with them. 9/23/09

  • Seniors. The last day to take your senior photos is Wednesday, September 30. Please be sure to have your picture taken by this date so it may be submitted to the yearbook staff. 9/23/09

  • Don’t forget to register your float for this year’s Homecoming parade! $100 prize to the best float! Due to Mrs. Trimble by Oct. 1! 9/23/09

  • Reminder to all Yearbook staff we have a work time today to make deadlines. You must put in your work hours either in the lab or working the table at conferences. Be sure to be there as it is part of your grade! See Mrs. Jasper if you have questions. 9/22-23

  • Hey Seniors the baby ad information for the yearbook should have arrived at your house by now. Be sure to remind your parents to get your ad turned in. They can be dropped off in the main office in the very colorful box labeled baby ads. 9/23/09

  • Reminder, that there will be Musical practice today and Thursday for all, but no practice for the Dreamers. Dreamers practice will be next Monday from 6:30 – 8:30 pm. 9/22/09

  • Extra, Extra, Extra ---It’s time to buy the extra 2008-2009 yearbooks. Many of you have been asking for them and now you can get one. The extra books are for sale in Kemper room 12. They are $65.00. Don’t miss this chance to have the memories you made last year for the rest of your life. Plus, you will also have a picture of that favorite teacher to cherish forever—like the one that made knock, knock jokes every day! 9/23/09
