Attention Speech Team students, There is a brief required meeting in room 306 after school today. Anyone who plans to compete at Iowa City West on October 6th must be at this meeting. 9/20

The environmental club is having its first project of the school year. If you are interested in hearing about the Lexus Environmental Challenge, a contest which challenges high school students to make a positive environmental difference in their school or community, please meet in room 501 after school on Friday. 9/21

Central girl’s soccer open gyms have been changed to 6:30-8:30p.m. on Sundays starting this Sunday. If you have any questions see Coach Petersen in the gym." 9/20

The boy’s golf team continued it’s domination of their city rivals by winning the City Tournament for the 2nd straight year. Our team score of even par 280, broke the previous record by 15 strokes. Connor Gillund led the Blue Devils with a 2 under par 68. Caleb Davison added a 69, with Lee Johanson carding a 71 and Grant Kilmer posting a 72. Go Blue 9/20

The Central Book Club is back!  Our first book for the new school year is I Know What you Did Last Summer by Lois Duncan. Unfortunately, all of the books have been checked out as of yesterday, so if you are interested in reading this book, you will have to go to the public library to check it out.  Our meeting to discuss the book will be on Monday, October 15th, so you have about a month to read the book.  The book club is for everyone - students and teachers alike.  Again, hurry to pick up your copy of I Know what you did Last Summer.  Central, let's get reading!! 9/20

The Freshmen Scholastic Bowl team will be practicing tomorrow morning on Friday, September 21st at 7:00 a.m.  Please come and experience this fast paced game.  This practice is for freshmen only.  See you tomorrow. 9/20

Sign up to make a float in this year’s homecoming Parade!!!! Grab a sign up sheet outside of room 333 or by the main street doors. Turn in your filled out sheets to the library with the 10 dollar entry fee. The more floats the more fun!! 9/24

Those of you who have not turned in their money for the Homecoming t-shirts need to turn your ten dollars in as soon as possible. You will not receive your shirt until your money is turned in. Please turn it into the library or to any student council member. Thank you! 9/21

You can pick up your school re-take ID's today at all lunches. 9/21

Sign up today for 3 on 3 intramural basketball. Games will be played next Wed. and Fri. at 7 in the morning. Turn your teams into Mr. Swetalla or Mrs. Hansen in the gym. 9/21  

Don't forget to buy delicious donuts and bagels, before school, near the entrance of the auditorium on the Main street side of the building. 9/21

Any student that has not turned in a free and reduced application for this year by September 21st will automatically be changed to paid status. You can get an application from any cashier. 9/21

Attention past and future Drama Club members. Come to room 305 Thursday after school to sign up. We need to pick officers and set and agenda for the year. See you there! 9/20

Hey all you Central chemistry lovers - come check out the school's new Chemistry Club! We will be meeting today after school in room 637. We will be doing a fun experiment in the lab and talking about activities for the year. All students who have completed or are currently taking General Chemistry are welcome. CHS Chem. Club - being nerdy never looked so cool! See you Thursday in 637.

Band, choir, and orchestra students- remember to keep selling those entertainment books. 20 dollars gets you or your friends a book full of great deals in the Quad City area.
