You thought that the Environmental Club just collected cans and bottles for recycling? Like last year, we are now starting to collect acorns. We will be donating our acorns to Living, Lands, and Water that will, in turn, use them to plant and grow trees as a part of their Million Trees Project. The goal of the Million Trees Project is to plant 100,000 trees in the next 2-3 years and 1 million trees within the next 10 years. In order to do this, we need your help in collecting acorns. If you have a big oak tree in your yard or live near a park, spend a little time collecting the acorns and bring them to room 501. Put the acorns in a paper or canvas bag, not a plastic or zip lock bag. If you need more information, see any Environmental Club officer or Mrs. Heninger in room 501. 9-17
